Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL)

Urinary tract stones are bombarded with high frequency waves from outside the body. The energy of the shock waves cause the stones to fragment. The resulting stone fragments will pass down the ureter and bladder and comes out with the urine when urine is passed the usual way.
